The Lord calls us into a place of not just knowing Him - but becoming like Him.
It's a process. Not an overnight wonder. Even though I keep thinking that by now I should have finally made it, the truth is that I've hardly begun.
It seems that discouragement is the "sin that besets us." ALmost everyone I know has been having a difficult time lately. Relationships. Finances. Disappointments. Unfulfilled expectations. It all mounts up, as we all know.
What is the INTENTION of God in all this? For years we were taught that we needed to be humbled. But, that just didn't go along with the Scriptures. We Humle ourselves - God doesn't do that.
Then, we were told that hard times come so that we will "DIE to ourselves!" Sooooo... Christians have been dying for a really long time. We've missed the fact that we were to have died with Christ. We are to reckon ourselves dead ALREADY. And that now we are to raise in the "newness of life."
What I see is that it's not about endurance of difficulty. It's about overcoming them. Just this week, I experienced great disappointment. Suddenly today, my vantage shifted. I overcame the issue - inside was a knowing that the dispute was FINISHED. And then disappointment just vanished!
It is the OVERCOMER who inherits all things, my friend. Be wise. Overcome! And RISE. It is a day of LIFE and strength. You are not defined by the opinion of others. You are defined by the very Words of God. It doesn't really matter what others say or do... It matters what God Said.
May you be empowered by the INTENTION of God for your life.
